Circle of life

Farming is an emotional journey.

I want to raise my own animals for meat. Knowing that they are looked after and cared for until a humane end.

I’m currently looking after a sick rooster, destined for the table.

Most people will tell me;

• It’s cheaper to get chicken from the shop

• Why bother it’s a rooster

• Put it out of it’s misery

For me, I treat him just as I would one of my egg laying hens. If you are in my care, I will look after you until the end.

Cheer up little man.

I hope some vitamins, de wormer, warmth comfort and good feed is going to bring him back.

And if not, I will give him a fast ending and he will feed my veggie garden as compost instead.
